STEP Program
SUPPORT TEAM FOR EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP (STEP)
The STEP Program is a Philadelphia Public Schools initiative which was developed to provide new ways of addressing mental health and social work needs for students and families within schools.
Overbrook High School’s STEP Team consists of:
- Clinical Coordinator/Therapist – Ms. Dana Carlomagno (dcarlomagno@philasd.org)
- Case Manager – Ms. Ayesha Akther (aakther@philasd.org)
- Family Peer Specialist – Ms. Miranda Yancey (myancey@philasd.org)
This team of mental health professionals can provide therapy, case management, and peer support as well as consult on school wide initiatives with a trauma informed lens. Students and families are wrapped in thoughtful, consistent and culturally responsive services that can and should lead to better outcomes for students in the classroom and in the community.
